Two great offenses facing two of the top defenses as well here. Tampa -126, Rams +106, total at 55.5. As you can see with the high total this one has the makings of that shootout. Last year 27-24 played in Tampa Bay. The Rams have developed a tendency of holding opponents under 20, I’m not sure they will be doing that here. This game while it has the feel of what could be a playoff matchup also gives me concern there, in that some teams don’t reveal their best game plan when they think they are gonna face these guys when it counts later in the year.
For Stafford a career in Detroit has him 8-65 vs teams with a winning record the year before. Something has to give as this defense hasn’t allowed 30 points in 15 straight games, having their not allowed 20 points streak broken last week. Holding Brady under 30 does happen but it doesn’t happen often. The matchup to watch is the pressure on the QB for the Rams, as the Bucs have allowed 0 sacks 6 times since last year. It’ll be how often they get to Brady that determines this one.
All the stats in the world for Brady and the Bucs, they meet a team that is actually a contender here and one that is trying to get that home field Super Bowl appearance that Tampa got last year. This is one to watch, and no matter what anyone’s predictions its likely this one won’t be decided until late. The total set so tight that it will likely be decided in the final half quarter as well. With the number at 55.5 sometimes high scoring games still manage to stay under. My prediction 28-27 Buccaneers.
