Monday Night Football as Buffalo rides momentum from a big win in KC last week. Bills now -6 opened -3, total 53.5, 30.5(BUF), 23.5(TEN). 1st in defense the reason for Buffalo being such a huge favorite, 23 opening day the most points that have been scored on them. They bring +11 turnover ration through the first 5 games. Leading the league in scoring 34.3 per game, and points allowed 12.8 per game. The matchup? Last year this game was a blowout the other way, 42-16 Titans, Buffalo was a bit banged up for that one. The Bills have won their four games in a row by 18 points. They have not faced a team that has a winning record this year however.
The Titans expected to have Jones on the field. Brown and Rogers are questionable for tonight’s game, Brown did have full week of practice with the hamstring. Henry is on pace to have another 2000 yard season, averaging 128 per game this year. The titans defense does have some injuries at cornerback. The enter week 6 with the 9th ranked defense allowing 26 per game. They are scoring 26.2 per game as well. Coach Vrabel is a defensive player turned coach from the Belichick tree which means he has a detailed plan for what has worked against Buffalo even thought this may be the best Bills team they have seen.
I think the 6 points is too much to give the Titans at home, the bad loss to the Jets was what it was but when your top 2 receivers were out it may be a bit of an overreaction to hold it against them. They are still first place in their division which makes them the first team with a winning record to face the Bills. Consensus has some 70% of early money on the Bills, 80% on the over. Those may seem like easy plays but two top ten defenses and two top ten % of run plays teams as well. Tennessee 2nd in time of possession and Buffalo 6th, so both are capable of extended 10 play or more drives. 58 points last year in this battle and stats get conflicting when you look at the plays on that total. I’m not sure about a score but at +6 for Tennessee I see no other play here the Bills will just have to beat me there.
