Cleveland -11 with a team total at 28.5 as the Lions come to town. Detroit team total 14.5. For the Browns injuries and COVID related missed games for key players continues to cast a shadow over a team that when healthy still has to have a deep playoff run as the only way to improve on last year. They face a Lions team that has scored fewer than 20 in 8 straight games. The matchup of the Browns run game vs. the Lions run defense is even not what it could be. Chubb has cleared COVID protocols, they went to Johnson who put up good numbers even in the blowout loss to New England. With Mayfield being knocked out of that game as well even the QB position is in line for being in limbo at some point during the game.
The Lions “got better” in tying Pittsburgh with Rudolph at QB for the Steelers. We can expect to see heavy does of Swift who went 33 carries for 130 yards last Sunday. The Browns rushing defense allowing 3.8 yards per carry. Goff has missed practice this week with the Oblique injury. You can check out the injury report here. Injury update Goff will be out. Tim Boyle will get the start Detroit.
With Chubb back and the QB change for Detroit as well as the need to win for positioning for playoff spots and/or division titles this one is a “Must Win” for the Browns. The way they have handled some opponents maybe we give them a pass for having some guys out last week and then it really just got out of hand. They get back on track here and moving forward may add Hunt into the lineup in the future. My prediction 27-13 Browns.
