NBA Finals Game 1 – Celtics vs. Warriors

The NBA Finals where superstars become legends. This has the makings of great finals as both squads have shown brilliance on offense and times of complete dominance on defense. The Celtics had the leagues best defense this season and in the playoffs they are holding teams to 31.7% from 3. The Warriors shooting 37.9% from 3 for the playoffs and 49.3% from the field. It’ll be interesting to see how this thing ends up, the oddsmakers have it as a close one Golden State -155 and Boston +135. While I do give the advantage to the Warriors just from shear playoff experience this Boston team is playing well enough to win and this series and game 1 could go either way. That being said my pick is the Warriors -3.5, or -160 for game 1. ESPN’s basketball power index has it the other way with the Celtics having a 59% chance of winning according to their BPI. If the Celtics are to win it’ll most likely be gaining possessions by getting stops at the defensive end. That may come with adjustments as we get deeper into the series.
