MLB 7/6/2022

If you were following yesterday you saw it was one of those days where betting on baseball was hazardous. Its pre-All-Star break and sometimes expecting things to go your way is forgetting that even the worst teams win slightly over 40% of the time, and usually the best teams win slightly over 60% of the time (meaning that yes even the Yankees and Mets may have gravity bring them closer to Earth). In case your wondering no these picks don’t reflect actual bets and while I may love the game of baseball I do not consider myself a baseball professional, its by far the most difficult sport to predict for me even though it may fill the days and nights of the long summer.

The Guardians now just one game over .500 as the Tigers have taken the bats to them this series and now have a commanding 6-2 series lead for the season and go for the four game sweep today. Its Shane Bieber the best hurler for Cleveland on the mound, my pick Guardian -156

The White Sox still haven’t beat the Twins yet this season and while the Sox may catch fire after the All-Star break they are going to be climbing an uphill battle. Avoiding the sweep at home is just one game, but when all the wild-card teams are coming from the AL East, every game head to head against the Twins is important. Veteran Lance Lynn on the mound for the Sox and Eloy Jimenez returns from the 60 day IL , my pick White Sox -116.

The Blue Jays are 0-july including losing the first two game in Oakland. They are still in wildcard position and Jose Berrios on the mound they are my pick – Blue Jays -176.

The Evening Games

I go back to the well as the one thing I thought would happen in the Rangers and Orioles game happened. Its happened the first two games of the series and that is over 9.5 runs. My pick is the over 9.5 Texas and Baltimore.

The Mets shut out yesterday by Lodolo and the Reds as it was a sacrifice fly walk off for Cincinnati 1-0 as the Mets just couldn’t get the bats going. Today its Peterson vs. Ashcraft as the Mets are my pick – NY -161

The Cardinals are on the ropes after getting hit early in the first two game against the Braves. Two games down two to go in Atlanta, Mikolas vs. Fried is the pitching matchup, my pick is St. Louis +1.5

The Giants haven’t won yet in July as they were swept at home by the White Sox and are down the first two games of this series. Last night went in dramatic fashion as the D-backs trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th before breaking it open 6-2. San Francisco will look to salvage a win out of the series before they head to San Diego for a four game series with no rest in between. My pick Giants -126.

As always Best of Luck and Enjoy your Wednesday
