For anyone following with my picks things looked good early just to have wins taken away by good hitting. At Kauffman Stadium the Guardians blew a 3-1 lead in the 8th, before losing on a walk off base hit. While the White Sox made it over their team total they left a lot of men on base and it was Candelario with the 2 run homer in the 6th inning and the go ahead 2 RBI single in the 7th that flipped the whole night on two well hit pitches.
Baseball starts 2:10 p.m. Est. in Chicago as the veteran Johnny Cueto takes the mound against Garrett Hill. Cueto hasn’t faced the Tigers in recent history and Hill is making his second MLB start he is 1-0. My picks here are the same White Sox over 4 and White Sox -167.
2:15 in St. Louis the Cardinals look to get things back on the winning track. Philadelphia currently in the final Wild Card spot and St. Louis 1 game back. Hudson hasn’t faced Philly since 2019, 1 win and 1 loss giving up 2 runs and 1 run in the two quality starts. Gibson on the mound for the Phillies faced them on July 2nd went 4 inning, gave up 6 hits, 6 runs, 4 HR in a game where the Cards went out 5-0 in the first and held on to a 7-6 victory. That is his only recent start vs. St. Louis. My picks St. Louis over 4, and St. Louis -115.
The Guardians look to turn around a 4 game losing streak. The youngster Triston McKenzie makes the start, he came on in relief in an April game at Kauffman going 3 innings, giving up 2 earned runs and 2 hits. Heasley on the mound for KC, he saw the Guardians once this year going 6 innings, 6 hits, 3 earned runs in what would be a 7-3 Guardians win. After the walk off on Friday night the Guardians still lead the season series 5-3. My pick opened a slight underdog and now has flipped to Guardians -128.
As always Best of Luck and Enjoy your Saturday
