Premier League Week 3 – Saturday

Premier League proved how tough it can be last week at least for me. This week we have a slate of teams that appear evenly matched on Saturday, a day of of what appear to be clear favorites on Sunday and the headliner between two struggling powerhouses on Premier Leagues Monday Night Football, which is 3:00 PM Eastern time in USA, 9:00 PM Monday across the pond.

Arsenal appears to be the only true “big favorite” on Saturday. They have not met Bournemouth since 2020, however they are 4 w and 1 draw last five vs. them. From the way things have started out Arsenal has an improved roster and has hit their first two fixtures in form taking right to the top of the table. They are 8-1 all time vs. the Cherries. Bournemouth are unbeaten in 11 home league games (W7 D4), winning the last three without conceding. None of Arsenal’s last 19 Premier League games have been drawn (W13 L6). Bournemouth have had fewer shots than any other side in the Premier League so far this season (10) while facing 34 shots. Arsenal has scored last 5 vs. Bournemouth, they are a huge -950 to score over .5- they are -180 to score over 1.5, they scored over 1.5 3 of last 5 matches. – They are +167 to score over 2.5, they have only done that once in the last 5 matches vs. AFC Bournemouth. Arsenal is -230 for the match.

Leicester City vs. Southampton – Leicester is 3 W and 2 Draw last 5 vs Southampton. Prior to that Southampton had won 2 of their last 4 away games at Leicester. Leicester have lost just one of their last 10 Premier League home games (W5 D4). Away from home, Saints(Southhampton) are winless in eight league games (D3 L5). Both Leicester and Southampton have conceded six Premier League goals this season. Leicester’s Jamie Vardy has been involved in nine goals in 15 Premier League appearances against Southampton, scoring six and assisting three. Leicester’s James Maddison has either scored or assisted a goal in each of his last six Premier League appearances, scoring five and assisting four. Leicester the -115 favorite here – Over .5 -675(Leicester scored last 5 vs. Saints, Over 1.5 -132(Over 2 in 3 of last 5), Over 2.5 +225(Over 2.5 in only 1 of last 5). Combined Total 3(Combined over 3 Two of last Five meetings.

Everton vs. Nottingham Forrest- These two haven’t played since 1999. Everton looks to get points after losing its first two matches. Nottingham Forest have faced more shots (42) and have the highest expected goals against tally (4.03) in the Premier League so far this season. Everton the favorite here at -110. They are -430 to get over .5, While Nottingham is -180 to get over .5. Both these teams have only managed 1 goal in two games so far.
