It comes down to the pitching matchups for me in my picks today.
Carlos Carrasco is 1-4 with an ERA of 8.29 for Cleveland and I’m going to fade him with the Red Sox looking to even this series at 2-2. The Red Sox have not played great at home after starting on the west coast but I’ll side with the slight favorites at -115 taking in 46 % of the consensus.
Kenta Maeda is 2-0-1 no decision his last 3 vs. Texas. He faces the rookie Jack Leiter making his MLB debut. The Rangers lead the series 2-1 coming into today. My pick of Detroit at home isn’t in line with the consensus of 74 % on the World Champs Texas Rangers with their rookie in debut. Still almost even money game I’ll take the veteran and an improved Tigers here.
Tampa the betting favorite is down 2-1 in the series to the Angels who are hanging in early in what is really good AL West. Peipot first start vs LAA, Canning is 1-1 with 4.19 era vs Tampa. 79 % consensus on the Rays playing at home today and I am also.
