UConn – A week after falling a few times we see this version of the Huskies isn’t the historically best ATS team we saw the past two years but its hard not to like them against Baylor, who is capable of the upset so we will see.
NBA – Orlando – While Joel Embiid is out as well as Paul George and the records may be in opposite directions this may not be the time to follow that pile of money on Orlando. Why ? The head to head record shows the one victory by Orlando this year, before that it was 14 of 15 going Philadelphia’s way in the matchup. Game is in Philly and for the Sixers they are off to an injury plagued start. Still the Magic aren’t full strength either with Banchero sidelined. ESPN gives the Sixers a 54.5% chance and my recommendation is lay off it or take the +5.5 as Maxey and the guys suiting up are still capable of this win.
Indiana – Once again we see the money piled up on a road team. The Pacers and Nets both come in at 9-13 and ESPN has this thing at 52% the Nets way. Last year the Pacers won 2 of 3 in the matchup. I’m gonna side on the Pacers -2.5 and know that this could go either way but you go with who you think is the better team.
Minnesota – Listed on ESPN as almost even but once again the percent there is on the home team, but consensus sees the pile of money on the Wolves. The Clippers off to a better start even with Kawhi out but James Harden appears to be in shape. The Wolves have won the first here this year making it 6 of 7 in the matchup falling Minnesota’s way. How many nights this season is the difference going to be Anthony Edwards stepping up or being stopped? Same thing here a light play on the Wolves and remember there has never been a sure play in the NBA, this Clippers team may end up being better in the long run that anyone would be willing to predict. Minnesota and I slide over to that money line at -148 because its already been a 93-92 game this year and when they go like that you may win but you never feel like you had a sure thing as the crucial minutes unfold.
Good to be back and best of luck as always
