Cardinals & Phillies

St. Louis Cardinals

They are the hottest team in baseball and after sweeping the Yankees while the Brewers have been swept in Pittsburgh and still struggled with Cincinnati it looks like the Cards may stay in control of the NL Central drivers seat. The best may be ahead for these Red Birds as they were in close to the same position last year before August where they went 15-11 and then September where they went 22-7. This team had a goal set out to win the Central, and while Milwaukee was the favorite they no longer are as St. Louis has shifted to -160 favorites. They have moved to +642 on the money line for the year and I expect them to finish around where they were last year +1509. Since having a bit of trouble with the Reds themselves losing 3 of 4 coming back from the All-Star Break they are 9-1. All this making the Cardinals one of your best options on a daily basis when your looking at where to wager in baseball.

Philadelphia Phillies

Another team whose first series went bad as they were swept at home by the Cubs in a series where the Chicago hitters lit up their pitching coming back from the All-Star Break. Since then they are 11-2 and that includes going 4-2 against the defending World Champion Atlanta Braves while being undefeated against everyone else. They too have climbed into plus money on the year at +556. While they may slow down a bit from 11-2 this team is likely to make Wild Card.

Next up? The Cardinals are in Colorado for 3 games before 3 in Milwaukee and 3 more with Rockies in St. Louis before the D-Backs, Cubs, Braves and Reds finish out the month.

The Phillies have the 3 with the Marlins, Mets and Reds then 11 games at home vs the Mets for 4 and the Reds for 4 then the Pirates for 3 before finishing the month out in Arizona.
